If this story has made it into your hands, that means I have finally finished something that I started, well almost…
The story of The Jungle Jinni began in 2021 the magical land of Costa Rica, where I was pursuing my Masters in Peace Education at the University for Peace (UPEACE). During a course on Education for Sustainable Development facilitated by Miriavn Vilela, Executive Director of the Earth Charter International Secretariat, we were tasked to find a way to effectively communicate all the secrets we had uncovered during the course, to the rest of the world.
This was no small task as we had learned the sacred secrets to preserve our planet from peril and it was coded in the language of the Trees. At least that’s what it felt like to me as a new student of the environment.
Since as long as I can remember, there have always been Little Voices in my heart, soothing me with stories to make sense of the big world around me. On this particular occasion, where I found myself overstimulated with new knowledge, emotions, and paradigms, and unsure how to make sense of it all, I sat myself under a Tree where the Little Voices met me, to paint me the story of The Jungle Jinni. I have scribbled the story I saw that day here for you, as best as my words allowed me, in hopes that it will inspire you to join me on this journey and help me unlock the most important secret to saving our planet, which is You.

About the
Author
I don’t believe that you can fit a person onto a page, nor a chapter, nor a book. Who I am now when writing this, may not be who I am later when you’re reading this. To tell you about me, I would have to tell you about my family who made me rebellious, my bullies who made me kind, my friends who made me loyal, my cats who made me selfless, my books who made me colorful, my teachers who made me curious, my students who made me wise, and everyone and everything in between that brought me to who I am today.
Like the Jungle Jinni, I believe we are ever morphing and evolving through every encounter, connection, and experience, so that we are never the same person twice. So, instead of telling you about a superficial version of who I think I am at this moment, I will let you discover me through the colorful characters, worlds, and lessons that you will find throughout my story.
